PRIMARY INNOVATION FEATURES

Bergtagen 38 is a non-compromising mountaineering backpack built for flexibility and comfort on long days in the mountains. It has Fjällräven’s external wooden frame, which – along with the top lid and hip belt – is easy to remove so you can have one more supportive pack for long approaches and one lighter for summit pushes.

INTENDED SPECIFIC END USE

A minimalistic mountaineering backpack for a life above the treeline. Perfect for randonnée skiing, alpine trekking, climbing and other mountain activities where reliability and durability are important.

SPECIFIC FEATURES

Bergtagen 38 is engineered from Fjällräven’s new waterproof and durable Bergshell fabric in 100% recycled nylon. Made in a classic, simple design with just the essential features and attachment points needed. The wooden frame, made from FSC-certified birch, is easy to remove.

SUSTAINABILITY INFORMATION

Bergshell, Fjällräven’s very own waterproof and sustainable fabric, is made from 100% recycled nylon. It is developed specifically for backpacks and has a very high strength. Durable fabrics, details and construction mean that Bergshell 38 offers outstanding performance and longevity in tough terrain. The wooden frame is made from light, strong and tough FSC-certified birch from European forests. The wood is laminated in layers with a water-resistant, environmentally friendly glue and treated with linseed oil.

PRIMARY INNOVATION FEATURES

Trollstigen Top consists of lightweight merino wool and tencel blend in a jacquard knit. The combination of merino wool, tencel and the knitting construction makes this garment light, soft and breathable. The blend of the two natural fibers, makes the top absorb and wicks away moisture quickly.

INTENDED SPECIFIC END USE

The top combines the urban visual look with the technical comfort and all seams have been reduced to a minimum. Trollstigen Top is stylish yet highly technical. The combination of merino wool and tencel makes the top perfect for outdoor activities and in the city.

SPECIFIC FEATURES

Trollstigen Top is in an athleisure fit. The combination of merino wool 70%, tencel 30% and the knitting construction makes this garment durable and long lasting. Merino wool is naturally temperature regulating and natural odour control. The number of seams are reduced for extra comfort.

SUSTAINABILITY INFORMATION

This product from Devold is made from the two natural fibres merino wool and tencel. There is no added petroleum in this product and therefore it makes this garment completely biodegradable. Made in their own Devold factory in Europe. Thanks to merino wool the top can be worn for several days without washing. Simply air out the top instead of washing and you will save water.

Branded with the Nordic Swan Eco label licence (Svanemerket). The Nordic Swan Eco label is a very high demanding eco labelling and Skogstad is the first one to ever do this eco labelling on polyester fibres. The polyester fibre used is 100% recycled and traced down and approved in all aspect of the production and raw material productions.

INTENDED SPECIFIC END USE

SPECIFIC FEATURES

There is also a roomy zippered front pocket for small stuff and on the inside you have an internal zippered security pocket with a key hook.

Designed to increase the life of the product through large number of incentives incl. chemicals, fabric content and working conditions. The tote itself has good repair possibilities as well. Made in recycled polyester, organic cotton and Bluesign approved polyester. For prolonged life the tote is designed with oversized zippers and metal buckles.

TRETORN – Racket Eco Sneaker

FOOTWEAR AWARD, MOTIVATION FROM THE JURY

It is not classical outdoor footwear but the jury liked the ecological approach that Tretorn has chosen for the Racket Eco Sneaker. This classic styled lifestyle sneaker is made from recycled fabric that can be recycled again and the outsole compound includes 60 percent of natural rubber. Additionally the eco leather used can be traced back to the farm. Björn Borg would be proud!

PRIMARY INNOVATION FEATURES

Tretorn managed to change a classic sneaker into a unique Eco sneaker without making a notable change for the passing eye. An everyday sneaker but still good for the environment.

INTENDED SPECIFIC END USE

The Racket Eco Sneaker is designed for everyone. Perfect for active people who loves leisure wear but with a twist.

SPECIFIC FEATURES

Tretorn changed the outsole compound to include 60% natural rubber sourced from local farms in Vietnam, making the oil and plastic dependency low in comparison to most footwear outsoles today. They work with TanTec Eco Tannery for a water and chemical reduced Eco Suede traceable back to the farm with full transparency. Tretorn changed the construction of the insock to be build on a compound from recycled rubber, making the construction free from PU and plastics.

SUSTAINABILITY INFORMATION

Tretorn never uses fluorocarbons, phthalates, PVC. They only use chemicals when needed and only in a very restricted and controlled way. Tretorn has developed their own fabric Ocean Shell that is recycled and recyclable. On sneakers they do not have a solution in place for how they can be taken care of as it is today. They are a mix of so many compounds making it hard with present situation. However hopefully they have soon managed to make sneakers in less compounds and then made them easier for recycling or reuse.

By changing from a traditional polyester based raw material to a plant based PLA, with a Bio-PU coating and a unique Polylactide (PLA) zipper they have created a new type of traditional rainwear. Free from fossil fuel and ready to be degraded after use.

SPECIFIC FEATURES

A waterproof and windproof rain jacket. The jacket is degradable and free from fossil fuel. The perfect rain jacket for any occasion.

SUSTAINABILITY INFORMATION

Tretorn never uses fluorocarbons, phthalates, PVC etc. They only use restricted chemicals when needed. The fabric is recycled, recyclable or degradable in the Eco rainwear. With the Bio Plant Jacket Tretorn has worked together with Borås Textil Högskola to collect PLA jackets after consumer use. The consumer can send the jacket in and BTH will do research on PLA degradability on the jackets so Tretorn finally can help develop a closed circuit in the future.

SUSTAINABILITY AWARD, MOTIVATION FROM THE JURY

Water repellency plays an important role for outdoor garments. Organotex Textile waterproofing is an ecological friendly, PFOC-free and fully biodegradable way of keeping your clothing highly water repellent. The jury also liked that it will perform well without having to apply heat to the treated garment when you let it dry for two days. The products are manufactured in Sweden.

PRIMARY INNOVATION FEATURES

By mimicking the lotus leaf, OrganoTex have designed a waterborne system that builds up a breathable 3D network with micro and macroscopic surface roughness covered by a layer of anchored fatty compounds for good coverage and durability of the treatment on the textile.

INTENDED SPECIFIC END USE

OrganoTex end-consumer product is aimed to re-impregnate or impregnate variations of textile fabrics to become water repellent. The product is workable also for all kinds of laminated or coated fabrics and will not affect the breathability.

SPECIFIC FEATURES

The 3D network technology creates water repellence, maintains the fabric’s breathability and softness compared to film forming technology, such as for example PU and wax-based products. The product is 100% readily biodegradable and classified as non-toxic according to CLP. Water-based emulsion with readily biodegradable fatty hydrocarbons.

SUSTAINABILITY INFORMATION

OrganoTex has used only non-toxic chemistry that are biodegradable and the product is 100% readily biodegradable and classified as non-toxic according to CLP.
